As your principal of Janie P. Abbott elementary school, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another excellent year at Abbott. We are all excited to have our students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every student feel welcomed, connected and a part of the Roadrunner family. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be college ready. At Abbott, we have great teachers who spend hours planning as a team to create classroom activities that engage our students in learning.
Janie P. Abbott is excited to continue our newest programs, which we believe will have a profound effect on staff, students and the community of our school. During the last three years we have put in place our very own Girl Scout troop, K-Kids Club, ASB, and PTSA where students are given opportunities to give back to the Abbott and Lynwood communities. Our extra curricular clubs empower young people to make a positive and effective difference and to set up leadership and life skills that will lead to a better school and a better student. Our staff has made a commitment to model and implement both AVID elementary and PBIS strategies in order to provide a caring and nurturing learning environment for our students while fostering positive relationships with parents and other community members.
We look forward to another great year at Janie P. Abbott elementary school. Please note school begins August 22nd and will end at 3pm, but every other Wednesday school will end at 2PM. We would like to invite you to attend our Back to School Night which will take place on Wednesday, September 5th at 5:00 PM.
We are the Abbott Roadrunners and as you all know all Roadrunners DASH!
Do our best Act Responsibly Show Respect Have High Expectations
